Zapline

Error codes

When something fails, Zapline shows a code such as ZL-AUTH-401 and who most likely caused it. Zapline includes no channels: streams, accounts and guides come from the source you added, so many problems can only be fixed by that provider.

ZL-AUTH-401 Login not acceptedLikely cause: provider

Your provider's server did not accept the username or password. Only the provider can confirm the correct details.

What to do: Check them with your provider, then update the source.

ZL-AUTH-403 Access refused by the providerLikely cause: provider

The provider's server refused the request. Providers do this for account, region or IP address reasons.

What to do: Ask your provider whether your account or network is allowed.

ZL-ACCT-EXPIRED Account expiredLikely cause: provider

Your provider reports that this account has expired. Account dates are kept by the provider.

What to do: Renew the account with your provider, then try again.

ZL-ACCT-MAXCONN Too many connectionsLikely cause: provider

Your provider allows a limited number of simultaneous streams and all of them are in use.

What to do: Stop playback on another device, wait a minute, then retry.

ZL-HTTP-404 Stream not foundLikely cause: provider

The provider's server does not have this stream. The channel may have been moved or removed on their side.

What to do: Refresh the source. If it stays, ask your provider about this channel.

ZL-HTTP-5XX Provider server problemLikely cause: provider

The provider's server reported an internal problem. It is not caused by your device or by this app.

What to do: Try again in a few minutes.

ZL-NET-DNS Server name not foundLikely cause: network

This device could not look up the server's address. The address may be incorrect, or your network's DNS is not answering.

What to do: Check the server address, or switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data.

ZL-NET-TIMEOUT Server did not answer in timeLikely cause: network

The connection to the server timed out. The network or the server is too slow or unreachable right now.

What to do: Check your connection and try again.

ZL-NET-TLS Secure connection failedLikely cause: network

A secure (HTTPS) connection could not be set up. The server's certificate may be invalid, or something on the network is interfering.

What to do: Try another network. If it keeps failing, ask your provider about the server certificate.

ZL-NET-OFFLINE No network connectionLikely cause: network

This device has no usable route to the server. This is a network problem, not a problem with the playlist.

What to do: Check Wi‑Fi or mobile data, then retry.

ZL-NET-REFUSED Server refused the connectionLikely cause: network

The server is reachable but is not accepting connections on this address or port.

What to do: Check the address and port, or try again later.

ZL-CODEC-AUDIO Audio format not supportedLikely cause: this device

This stream's sound uses a format this device cannot decode. The stream itself is fine.

What to do: Try another audio track, or play it on a device that supports it.

ZL-CODEC-VIDEO Video format not supportedLikely cause: this device

This stream's picture is beyond what this device can decode (format or resolution).

What to do: Choose a lower-quality version of the channel if the provider has one.

ZL-STALL Stream stopped sending dataLikely cause: provider

The connection is open but the provider stopped sending video. This usually comes from the provider's side.

What to do: Retry. If it keeps happening, tell your provider which channel it is.

ZL-FORMAT Unrecognized stream formatLikely cause: provider

The server returned something that is not a video stream (for example a web page). This is decided by the provider's server.

What to do: Check the address, or ask your provider for the correct link.

ZL-PLAYLIST-EMPTY Playlist has no channelsLikely cause: provider

The address works, but the list it returned is empty. The provider or the file has nothing in it.

What to do: Check that the address is the one your provider gave you.

ZL-PLAYLIST-INVALID Not a valid playlistLikely cause: provider

The address returned something that is not a playlist, such as a login page. This is decided by whoever hosts the link.

What to do: Check the address, or ask your provider for a new link.

ZL-PLAYLIST-STREAM This link is a stream, not a playlistLikely cause: provider

The address plays one channel (a video stream) instead of returning a channel list.

What to do: Use the playlist (M3U) link from your provider, usually ending in get.php or .m3u, not a channel link.

ZL-EPG-INVALID Guide data could not be readLikely cause: provider

The program guide file is not in a format this app understands. The guide comes from the address you set, not from the app.

What to do: Check the guide address, or ask your provider for the correct one.

ZL-EPG-NOMATCH Guide does not match channelsLikely cause: provider

The guide loaded, but its channel IDs do not match your channels, so no programmes can be shown.

What to do: Match channels to the guide manually, or ask your provider for a matching guide.

ZL-UNKNOWN Something went wrongLikely cause: app

This problem did not match a known cause, so it may be in the app.

What to do: Retry, or copy the diagnostic report and send it to support.

Still stuck? In the app, copy the diagnostic report (it hides passwords) and email it to gnurtnel@gmail.com. We cannot help with provider accounts or subscriptions.
